I have concluded Omicron does not cause more problems and does not justify fundamentally different solutions from Delta -it is not inherently more contagious (the South African wave is peaking way too soon for it to be inherently more contagious) and is likely not much less severe (it might be slightly less severe in the unvaccinated, countered by an increase in mild and severe cases among the vaccinated and previously infected).
