Why I viewed Christianity as the biggest red flag and why I no longer do so
Before October 2022, I viewed Christianity as the biggest red flag there is. Today I no longer view it negatively. Here I will explain why.
Christianity is cant in modern America. The most common variety of American Christianity existing in the public mind today -a sort that claims even the worst hearted person can be saved with certainty if he simply acknowledges Jesus as lord and savior- is also morally repulsive. For the most part, claiming to be a Christian in America just signals one is intellectually lazy -especially if one does not espouse a denomination and is not an elf ear. Even Christianity in Russia offers much more to a sincere person examining religion. Luckily, at least some churches yield good fruit and offer plausible accounts of divine justice -people go to heaven if they both do good works and believe in the gospel, people go to hell if they engage in mortal sin, there is a purgatory before entering heaven, the holy books are not all literally true (but are still extremely useful), and there is a centralized body governing doctrine that covers a large portion of the earth’s population. Catholicism at least offers all these. Serious competitors such as Zoroastrianism and Mormonism, for whatever reason, do not.
Before July-October 2022, I also viewed the world as purely atheistic -without demons, Satan, or any need to do any solutions for yourself, as everything of importance had been solved by Cowen’s second law. I thought the problem of good posture had already been solved and was universally taught. The fact the world, including man himself, seems likely by its nature to destroy humanity was a possibility I never pondered or understood. Needless to say, God’s promise to Noah offers some foundation for man’s continued existence without any major demographic disasters in times of rapid transportation -something which standard atheistic physicalism cannot provide at all.
Then bam -I realized the vast majority of what was said about posture (especially by Stuart McGill and Evan Osar, but not entirely by Kjetil Larsen and Robin McKenzie) was pure bullshit, and that when one gets to good posture, one gets revelations showing standard atheistic physicalism to be simply false and that the world is best modeled a matrix of computer simulations. Standard atheistic physicalism is like a dike -once one pokes a hole in it, the whole structure must come apart -and, in August-September 2022, come apart it did. The fact that many arguments against creationism were actually arguments against evolution -why are testes so easily crushed and incapable of growing back? Why do eyes not grow back after gouging? Why does the nervous system’s battle against spinal cord injuries so often end as incomplete? Why are pregnancies and puberty ages time-limited instead of calorie dependent? Why do people not look like Yoda and The Brain- was something that very few people talked about, with the sole exception of Big Yud.
There is also the curious phenomenon that during the earlier ages of man, when the threats to his survival were the greatest, he always at least believed in demons, and, during the earliest part of the Bronze Age, tended even to human sacrifice (a standard orc thing). If standard atheistic physicalism is true, then why was it absent in past cultures, when one had no room for error? Why did the gods in the old Malthusian times need food? And why did the gods’ demand for food offerings disappear when man entered Clarkworld? The simple answer, that calories from this world are and always were needed for intelligences lacking bodies in this plane of existence, never seems to be proposed.
Suffice it to say, the AI alignment problem was solved in 1955 with the help of James Jesus Angleton -but even looking further back, it seems bizarre that the nineteenth century saw so few pandemic-caused demographic disasters, despite the White man’s exploration into the hearts of Africa and Asia.
A god that keeps things from falling apart is a god that is capable of being a creator god, and in alliance with us against Satan, who rules the present world.
