A classic problem with conservative critiques of affirmative action is that they criticize elite colleges for discriminating against Asians. But this is stupid. Virtually noone gets admitted to elite colleges, so it makes no sense criticizing an application committee for excluding this or that applicant. The correct approach when criticizing elite college admissions isn’t to criticize who is not admitted, but to criticize who is admitted. One’s goal when criticizing elite college admissions isn’t to be pro-Asian or even directly pro-White, but to be anti-Black. One should not want the elite to become more Black, and the less Black the elite is, the more that benefits Whites (so criticizing elite college affirmative action really is pro-White after all, just not directly). Besides, race suicide isn’t good. Asian power is as potentially dangerous as Black power.
Ironically, though criticizing elite colleges for exclusion is almost always a bad idea, it makes much more sense criticizing less elite colleges for the same thing. The Asians and Whites have to go somewhere, after all.
SCOTUS ruling today. I feel like every year SCOTUS makes a new ruling on Affirmative Action. I thought DIE replaced AA entirely, but I guess not? I knew a Korean girl in high school with a 4.0 who couldn't get into the University of Michigan, one of the worst offenders. As a result, I never bothered to apply there even for grad school.
