The myth of "forward head posture"
Consider this neck X-ray of me, taken in mid-2021:
There is an obvious problem with this X-ray -the front side of the discs are insufficiently compressed, while the back side of the discs are overly compressed, causing neck pain -but there is no forward head posture! If the chin was tucked even more as many physical therapists and chiropractors recommend, we would be seeing even more pressure on the back of the discs and even less pressure on their front, thus exaggerating the error. In fact, the head posture is too far backward -the back side of the mandible overlaps with the C2 and even C3. The only way out of this mess is to move the C1 forward while moving the front of the mandible up -thus ending the scourge of McKenzie tucks (from sources in other planes of existence, I am informed that McKenzie stopped this practice on himself in 1971).
